The 15-year-old from Florida, Cori ‘Coco’ Gauff makes a main draw appearance at Wimbledon Championships 2019 as she swept aside the Belgian, Greet Minnen 6-1, 6-1 in the last round of Wimbledon qualifiers. Gauff becomes the youngest player to qualify for Wimbledon’s main draw in the Open Era of tennis.
The American prodigy, Cori Gauff conquered the Roland-Garros junior title last year and became the youngest World Number one on the junior circuit. And this year she failed to enter the main draw at the Paris major but creates history in less than a month on the green turf of SW19.
The American teenage sensation, Cori Gauff stunned the top seed Aliona Bolsova in the second round of Wimbledon Championships 2019 qualifiers. She thrashed out the World Number 94 6-3, 6-4 on her qualifier debut at Wimbledon.

With her victory over Bolsova, Gauff became the youngest player to defeat a Top 100 player since the 14-year-old Martina Hingis breezed into the fourth round at the 1995 US Open.

“I’m the underdog, she’s the top seed,” the World Number 301, Gauff mentioned after upsetting the qualifying top-seed. “But no matter who I play, I think I can win.”
Gauff’s Americans fans associated her as ‘Young Venus’. Recently, Cori Gauff revealed the reason behind holding a tennis racquet, and she mentioned that it was all because of the aura which both the Williams sisters created on the WTA Tour.

Besides being a French Open junior champion, she was the youngest finalist at the US Open juniors at 13-years of age. Gauff’s compatriot, the 17-year-old Amanda Anisimova, reached the semifinals at Roland-Garros 2019 last month.
The young American sensation, Cori Gauff becomes the youngest contestant to feature in the Wimbledon Championships 2019 main draw. And by the end of this year, Gauff is expected to earn $1 million.
