The entire UFC community is waiting for a bout between UFC superstar Conor McGregor and former three-time Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler. To make the fight a reality, it’s important that McGregor clear the USADA’s testing. However, the Irishman was not ready to bow to the conditions put forth by the anti-doping agency. He wished for special treatment, which USADA completely rejected. They wanted him to go through each and every step like any other MMA fighter.
The disagreements between the two parties resulted in McGregor not entering the testing pool. However, at present, both McGregor and USADA have confirmed that the issues between the two parties are sorted out. He will soon enter the pool, which is indeed a green signal for fans who are expecting the showdown between ‘Notorious’ and ‘Iron.’ In the middle of the issues going on between McGregor and USADA, the retired UFC star, Chael Sonnen, blamed the anti-doping agency for not testing McGregor when he was in Nevada. In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, ‘The American Gangster’ blames USADA for not testing McGregor when he was in Nevada. The Irishman reached Nevada for the shooting of the reality series TUF. McGregor is coaching against Chandler in the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter. The show aired on May 30th, and at the end of the show, McGregor has to lock horns with Chandler. For the same reason, he needs to complete the procedure with the agency. Sonnen felt that USADA is working in McGregor’s favor and said the same. Later the agency reached out to Sonnen and asked him to inform the crows about how the agency can’t test a fighter who has entered the testing pool.

Sonnen said in a recent video uploaded on his YouTube channel, “This is what USADA told me. They said, Chael you said that we have tested people that are not with us and I did say that they should walk right up to McGregor who they’ve been in front of and ask him to take a test. They should do that. They have the ability to do that, They have a precedence to do it. They elected to not do that. So electing to hold him up when you had the ability to ask him for a test which you didn’t do.” Sonnen was not ready to believe the clarification from the agency completely.
Is ‘The Notorious’ getting special treatment?
In the later part of the conversation, ‘The American Gangster’ said that USADA could have used their power and tested the UFC icon. He added, “The reason why they did not test Conor McGregor is because they don’t have the authority to test him. He’s not in the pool. I’m telling you historically that’s not how they’ve operated, whether they received a phone call from somebody that said they were a government agency or not it’s not. They’ve got Conor.”

They could walk up and they could ask him for a sample any time and they haven’t done it.” Even after receiving a detailed explanation from USADA itself, Sonnen is not ready to agree with them. He believes that something is happening in the agency in favor of the multi-millionaire UFC icon.
