As reported by Bloody Elbow, examination by the UFC medical staff post-fight found that the fighter had endured a ‘non-displaced midline mandible fracture’. However, Covington has challenged this and in an interview with ESPN, he said (h/t Bloody Elbow), “Nothing was broken. The only thing that was broken was Marty’s pride that night because he doesn’t want to run this back in round two and he got forced to.”

Though the American fighter has denied the injury, there is something interesting about what Covington said between rounds to his cornermen. He said, “I think I broke my jaw.”

So Usman’s punch surely stunned him. Further, he also did not give an interview after the fight and quickly went backstage. Because of these two things, many thought that his jaw was broken during the fight.

Colby Covington reveals his x-ray report

Images of Colby Covington’s alleged broken jaw were doing rounds on the internet. In the pictures, a crack was clearly visible to the jaw. As a result of the images, ‘Chaos’ commented on them. He said, “It was one of the worst photoshops, let me say, in the history of this sport. Someone went and took an image of Google. They put my name on it Colby Covington and first off, it never reads if you ever see an x-ray film, it’ll never read your name straight across.”

Several fans have asked the 16-3-0 record holder to release pictures of his x-ray so that a conclusion can be drawn. It looks like the fighter doesn’t wish to do so. But he maintains his stance that his jaw was not broken. What is your opinion about this?
