Pittsburgh Steelers Prepare to Surprise Entire NFL With Bold Coaching Move

The Pittsburgh Steelers did not have a terrible NFL 2022/23 season. They ended the regular season with a winning record, but failed to qualify for the playoffs from the AFC North division. However, the franchise may have found something positive from this past season, which could help them massively in the future. The Steelers Defensive Backs coach, Grady Brown, caught plenty of eyes during the regular season and could become one of the great up-and-coming coaches.
Brown has been their secondary coach for the past two seasons and many people noticed his brilliant football mind. Although he did not get a proper opportunity at the Steelers, that could change in the coming season.

It is worth noting that the Steelers organization has not produced many world-class coaches over the years. They have hired many coaches in the past, such as Brian Flores or Mike Munchak, and others. Earlier, Steelers’ defensive coordinator Teryl Austin was also a secondary coach at the organization, who worked his way through the ranks. Now, Brown could be promoted in the rankings as well; at least he is hoping to become a coordinator soon.
“After being in the NFL for two years now and getting a better handle on the game, I believe have the talent to be a coordinator at some point in my career. Right now, it’s just about doing the best job I can do as with the position that I have, trying to make sure everybody is reaching their potential as a player. I believe that is my job as a coach. Everything else will take care of itself,” Brown recently said via Dale Lolley of Steelers.com about becoming a defensive coordinator in the future.

Speaking about it, Brown said, “It was fun… Obviously, we just finished our season not too long ago and I was kind of looking forward to getting away from the game a little bit and resting. But I can honestly say it was fun to get back into it and get football back on my mind and get a chance to teach the game and interact with the coaches and players.“

Pittsburgh certainly did not have a fruitful season this year, which could change next season. Young quarterback Kenny Pickett showed great improvement near the end of the season, which forced Steelers Legend Ben Roethlisberger to issue an apology. Moreover, if they promote Brown as the DC, the Steelers could pose a solid threat in the AFC division.
