The Yankees have performed lower than par since the beginning of this season. Their state in the middle of last month had worsened to 40-30, and the fans started panicking. However, the owner, Hal Steinbrenner, had hoped for better, and he tried to alleviate the situation.

Last month in a radio interview with YES Network, the host asked the Yankees’ owner if he knew that the fans were upset and if he did something to block them. He said, “I’m a little confused, this year, being the third week of June, why they’re so upset, but they’re upset, and that’s gonna get my attention, of course.”

Further adding to the situation at the time, he said, “Everybody just needs to know that we’re working hard on all fronts to get this back on the rails and start playing the way we were for a couple week period there in May.”

However, the promises of Hal Steinbrenner proved hollow as the team’s performance further worsened in the next month. The fans are returning to his old interview about their doubts and confusion.

Fans Question the Billionaire With Statistical Evidence

Since Hal Steinbrenner’s interview last month, the Yankees have reached 94-92 from 40-30. They have lost six games in the previous eight matches and reached the bottom of the AL East. Reacting to the situation, the disgruntled fans showed their disappointment on social media.

One fan wrote in a Tweet, “They went 5-7 in the last two weeks against the A’s, Cardinals, Cubs and Rockies. They have lost six of eight and are in last place in AL East. Four weeks ago, Hal Steinbrenner said he’s “confused” why fans are upset.”

Another fan pointed out the continuous failure against different teams. He wrote, “White Sox (40-55) – Cardinals (40-53) – Cubs (43-49) – Rockies (35-58) In the last 40 days. I do wonder if Hal Steinbrenner understands why the fans are upset now.”
